Awesome looking large ovoid redware jug. Vibrant glaze goes from reddish brown to dark brown. Applied handle with three thumb prints at base. Incised bands at shoulder. Crude piece weighs in at just over 6lbs. Heavy base and body wear. Great form on this primitive country jug.

Date: Early 19th century.

Size: 11 1/2″ tall. 8″ greatest diameter.

Condition: Glaze flakes and chips, etc. – all typical for a utilitarian piece of this age. Large chip to lip. See photos.
