Whimsical folk art Uncle Sam whirligig. Great old untouched dry surface. Blades are original, but appear to have an earlier coat of paint underneath. Likely they were old pieces of wood that were incorporated into the whirligig at the time it was made. One of the pieces that holds a blade has an extra hole, and was probably previously used on another axis – possibly for better balance. In any case, this was done many years ago when the piece was still in use. A fun primitive patriotic piece of folk art and Americana.
