Sweet looking carved folk art short cane. Outstanding detailed cross hatching and chip carving on the stem. Wonderful small snake wrapped around a shapely woman’s leg with shoe form the handle. Initialed, “AIS.” Possibly used by a very short adult or child. Good base tip wear and aging show that this piece was used at this length. Only about 10″ to 12″ shorter than a regular sized cane, so it certainly could have been used by a smaller person. The best old mellow patina. A folk art tour de force!
