Cool folk art advertising folding table. Great original painted surface advertising various businesses in Wichita, Kansas. The main advertising is for Frances’ Beauty Shop, and has a distinctive portrait of Frances herself. Underside of table is stamped “PROPERTY OF ST. ANTHONY CHURCH” (still in Wichita today at 258 N. Ohio Ave.). A pencil inscription above reads, “K of C,” which stands for the Knights of Columbus, a fraternal organization. This group either rented or purchased the table from the church, and this is likely when the advertising was added.

Still functions as a table, but would look great hanging on a wall. Discovered at a farm sale in NE Kansas. Very Route 66, 1950’s groovy.
