Nice large carved marble book. Engraved, “JEWEL.” Possibly used as a grave marker or memorial piece. I have owned a number of these carved stone books over the years, but this is by far the largest example encountered. Discovered in Rogers, Arkansas. A wonderful example of Victorian era carving with good simple details. Weighs about 3lbs.

 

Date:  2nd half of the 19th century.

Size:  5  1/8″  x  3″  x  2″

Condition:  Overall very nice. Minor scratches and wear.
