Fantastic wrought iron courting lamp. Applied cabriole legs with spade feet. Large drip pan. Coiled spring design with spinning adjustable socket that moves freely from the base up to the top. Wonderful primitive example of 18th century blacksmithing. Supposedly referred to as a “courting” lamp  because parents would send     A rare one.

Date:  1720-1760

Size:  6″ leg splay.  9″ tall.

Condition:  Nice old untouched surface with typical light rust. Minor loss to one foot and pan.
