Early set of street peddler’s bells. Wrought iron strip would have been attached to a board that bounced as the cart was pushed, letting prospective customers that the peddler was in the neighborhood. Each brass bell has three iron clappers, helping to create a melodic sound. The rimmed bell is a period replacement, as the four bells would have originally been in sequential sizes. This was clearly done in the 19th century, when the bells were still in use. A good looking primitive set with great tones.
