Fantastic looking folk art wood cup. Primitive stylized carved designs. Piece is completely hand carved, not turned. Outstanding untouched surface with the best aged patina. Origin is difficult to determine, but definitely an early object with considerable age. Possibly English – see a similarly carved example in Neumann’s, Early American Antique Country Furnishings (Page 236, plate 1036).

Date: 18th – 19th century.
