Excellent patriotic shaving mug made for E.A. Simon, and decorated by E. Berninghaus of Cincinnati, Ohio. The blank porcelain mug was produced in France, and is marked “LIMOGES.” Great colorful design with a large spread winged eagle atop a draped American flag. A gold framed banner across the flag bears the owner’s name. Fine example of late 19th century Americana.
