Grim “Hereafter” Skull Ashtray

Nice plaster cast figural skull ashtray. Marked on top in cursive, “It’s better to/ smoke here/ than hereafter – “Â Marked on back, “MADE IN ENGLAND.” Lit cigarette or cigar would be placed in the hole on the side of the skull, and the smoke would waft out of the eyes. Creepy and cool. Trace of original felt on base. Interesting and prophetic smoking piece made long before smoking was considered as a major health risk. Excellent original painted surface.
