Outstanding British field case for morphine. Marked on the metal handle, “MADE IN ENGLAND” and “CHENEY.” Heavy duty sheet metal construction. Spring loaded latch with brass knob designed for a quick open and close on the battlefield. Copper rivets. Clearly designed for combat conditions, and based on it’s condition, the case has seen a lot of action, and was used to help ease the suffering of countless wounded soldiers during World War One. Spectacular original painted surface with skull and crossed bones serving as a reminder of the grim necessity of the contents. Weighs 4lbs. This is one of those awesome objects that really speaks to me of history. Battlefield used. A killer piece that oozes character!
