Good redware utility jar. Dark brown glaze over a slip band. Nice early form, similar to contemporary glass bottles. Heavy base and body wear. Great looking primitive country piece.
Date: Second quarter of the 19th century.
Size: 6 1/2″ tall. Â 4″ base diameter.
Condition: Overall very good with typical surface wear and a few very minor flakes. An old open in-making glaze dimple.
